In our next sermon series beginning Sunday, October 14, we are going to look at the lives of several people who had an encounter with Jesus and how this encounter gave them purpose and a mission. This six-week series is designed to unlock the amazing truth that every child of God was Made for Mission.

“Central Church of Christ is a non-denominational, Bible believing church focused on ministry to the entire family. We are located in Griswold, Iowa, serving the area of the Griswold Community School District.”

Book of Galatians Bible School Class:  Aaron Houser and John Behrens, leading (meeting in the library)

If someone asked you to explain the gospel, what would you say? What is the good news of the Christian faith? Writing to the Galatians, Paul made it clear how easily we can be tempted to turn toward fraudulent gospels, especially those that teach we can earn God’s love through our works. Though they may have the appearance of truth, they are lifeless and leave us empty in the end.  In this Book of the Bible series, Kyle Idleman dives into the book of Galatians, one that contains some of the clearest explanations of the gospel in the New Testament.

gods at war Bible School Class; Tony Brandt, leading.  The gods at war bible school class will challenge us with the thought that perhaps all sin springs from the same source – IDOLATRY.  While we may not see many ‘graven images’ in our world today, there are still countless gods passionately at war for the throne of our heart. If we put the wrong god on the throne, our lives will be thrown into chaos, and all our efforts at sin management will be futile. Only by recognizing our misplaced worship and by enthroning Jesus can we experience freedom and life.

(Tony’s comment:  This will not be a “safe” class and some of the topics discussed are guaranteed to make you uncomfortable.)  NOTE:  My class will meet in the Red/Yellow/Blue rooms – across the hall from the kitchen
