What’s Your Crazy?

“Central Church of Christ is a non-denominational, Bible believing church focused on ministry to the entire family. We are located in Griswold, Iowa, serving the area of the Griswold Community School District.”

We have Sunday school classes for every age, including two adult classes from which to choose.  Join us Sunday morning at 9:00 AM for Sunday school.

If you have any Outreach ideas, we have a new email address set up.  Email and it will be sent to Curtis and Michelle Cockburn, our newest Ministry Team Leaders.  If you prefer, you may text or call Curtis, 712-229-0641 with ideas.

The new church cookbooks are available in the Office for $10.00 each.

If you like southern gospel music, Julie has the 2019 concert schedule in the office.  She will be happy to make you a copy.  Most of the concerts are held at the Salvation Army Church on North16th St in Council Bluffs.

Sunday, March 24 will be the last opportunity to take an envelope and give the amount on the outside to help send the students off on their mission trip.  If there is more money given than is needed for the trip the extra will be used to send kids to camp this summer.

There will be a GAP and Ignite Shepherds’ meeting on Sunday, March 24 beginning at 2:30.  They will be meeting in the Gray/Youth room.

The high school seniors will be having a celebration day and outing on Saturday, March 30.  Speak to Auggie if you would like to attend.  He will leave the Church at 12:00 pm.

Any high school seniors involved in IGNITE for the 2018/2019 school year will be recognized Sunday, March 31.  Please get Auggie the two ‘best’ pictures of your choice.

The middle school GAP students will be going bowling on Saturday, April 6.  The van will leave the Church at 2:00 pm. Please bring $10.00 for food and bowling.

Due to multiple school days missed because of the weather, VBS is being moved back.  It will now be June 17-21.  If you are signed up to help and this creates a conflict, contact Theresa Christensen.

If you have any of the things listed below, we would like to borrow them for VBS.  They will be returned after June 23.

1. A very large box from a flat screen TV

2. Kid’s crawl through tunnels

3. Canteens (older round type)

If you have any of these items, please speak to John Russell.

We would like to put together a Sunshine Box for Lisa Rush.  Her road of recovery is long and we would like to make it as bright as possible.  The box will be sitting in the foyer.  Please bring things you think will brighten her days.

“A Sacred Assembly”

Night of Worship -- Sunday, March 31; 6:00 pm

Declare a holy fast;

    call a sacred assembly.

Summon the elders

and all who live in the land

to the house of the Lord your God,

and cry out to the Lord.

                Joel 1:14

In the Bible, a sacred assembly was a gathering of the people of Israel for a sacred feast, festival or holy occasion.  They were often called, in times of crisis, as a time of corporate soul-searching and self-examination. On Sunday, March 31 we are calling A Sacred Assembly. This will be a night of worship in which we kick off our season of prayer and fasting to continue to present ourselves before God and to continue to ask God, “What is our crazy?”

21 Days of Prayer and Fasting -- March 31 – April 20

Following A Sacred Assembly, we will enter into a 21 Day season of prayer and fasting for the ministry and mission of Central Church.  Watch for information about prayer walks, a prayer guide and journal and a special 3 weeks sermon series of prayer and fasting leading up to and including Easter Sunday.

Due to multiple school days missed because of the weather, VBS is being moved back.  It will now be June 17-21.  If you are signed up to help and this creates a conflict, contact Theresa Christensen.

Remember, if you are not able to attend but would still like to give, use our Givelify app for online giving?  It’s quick, simple, safe, and you can give when you can’t get to Church.  You can give from your computer at home or download the app and use your smartphone.  If you would like more information, speak to Julie and she will be happy to help you with it.

If you have recently begun worshiping with us and would like to receive prayer requests and/or general announcements via email and/or text let us know.  You may sign up underneath these scrolling announcements, call the office, or sign up at the welcome center.
